2013 Toyota concert tour to enthrall local audiences

(VOV) -The 2013 Toyota Concert Tour, the 16th edition in Vietnam, will be held at Ho Chi Minh Theatre 30 July and Hanoi Opera House on August 2-3.

The event, co-organized by the Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF) and Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO), is part of activities to celebrate the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year and the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations.

During the concert, local music-lovers will have the chance to enjoy beautiful melodies performed by VNSO artists under the baton of Japanese maestro Honna Tetsuji, including two works of Russian romanticism composer Tchaikovsky, the joyful Music for Symphony Orchestra of Japanese conductor-composer Yasushi Akutagawa, and the arrangement for symphony orchestra of the folk song “Xe chi luon kim” (Love duets of Bac Ninh) of the composer Tran Manh Hung.

This year’s concert will see the participation of Do Phuong Nhi, a 15-year-old talented violinist, with challenging Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35 of Tchaikovsky.

Tickets are available as of July 17 at Hanoi Opera House – No.1 Trang Tien Str., Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh Municipal Theatre – No.7 Lam Son Square, District 1, and HCM City.

They cost somewhere between VND100, 000 and VND350, 000 each, and all proceeds will be used to find Toyota Scholarships for young Vietnamese talent.
