VOV.VN - A total of 13 movies are being screened during the European Film Festival 2020 which opened at the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi on November 20.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said the event would serve to strengthen the mutual friendship that exists between Vietnam and European countries, while also helping local people to gain a better understanding of different aspects of European culture.
The films on show have been selected from more than 14 European countries, with many of them previously claiming several renowned national and international awards.
Among the selected movies are “That time of the year” of Denmark, “Louis by the shore” of France, “Perfect stranger” of Italy, “The silence of others” of Spain, and “Mr Twister at the pitch” of the Netherlands.
Audiences are able to watch the movies at the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi, the Cinestar Cinema in Hue city, Cinestar Quoc Thanh in Ho Chi Minh City, and Lotte Ninh Kieu in Can Tho. The festival is scheduled to run until December 7.
The event has been organised by the EU Delegation to Vietnam and enjoys the support of the European Public Outreach Program, along with the participation of the EU Member State Embassies and European Cultural Centers in Vietnam.
This year’s event marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the EU.
