11 new elements recognised as National Intangible Cultural Heritage
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has added 11 new elements to the list of national intangible cultural heritage.

Among the newly recognised traditions is the Salangane Nest Festival in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province. Held annually by the Khanh Hoa Salangane Nest Company, the festival honours the founder and contributors to the local edible bird nest industry. Also from Khanh Hoa, the traditional agarwood craft has been acknowledged for its rich folk knowledge.
In Quang Ninh province, the costume sewing craft of the San Chi ethnic people in Binh Lieu district and the Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group in Ha Long city were also honoured for their preservation of traditional clothing techniques.
Nghe An province is now represented on the list with the brocade weaving tradition of the Thai ethnic group, a practice passed down for generations.
The Sayangva Festival, a ritual worshipping the Rice God, held in Long Khanh city, Dong Nai province, has also been recognised, along with the death anniversary of Marquis Nguyen Huu Canh, a prominent historical figure from the same province.
Other newly listed elements include new rice celebration of the Si La ethnic people in Dien Bien province, Thak Con (coconut offering) festival of Khmer people in Soc Trang province, Ong Pagoda festival in Hung Yen province, and the traditional wrestling festival of Co Trai village in Hai Phong city.
