10th Int’l Yoga Day takes place in Binh Dinh
The 10th International Yoga Day took place in Quy Nhon city, the central province of Binh Dinh on August 17.
Held by the provincial Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “One World, One Health,” the event aimed to promote benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being.
It was also to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - 2024) and respond to the campaign to encourage all people to do exercise following President Ho Chi Minh.
Speaking at the event, Bui Trung Hieu, deputy director of the department, emphasised that the event was an opportunity to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the province and the Indian Consulate General as well as between the people of Vietnam and India. It also laid the foundation for more cultural exchanges between the two nations.
After the opening ceremony, over 400 members of yoga clubs across Binh Dinh performed the "Moon Yoga, Moon Salutations," or Chandra Namaskar in Sanskrit.
In 2024, Binh Dinh is honoured to be among the top 40 provinces and cities nationwide chosen by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam to host the 10th International Yoga Day.
