Conference clarifies concept of a rising era for Vietnam
VOV.VN - A national conference was held in Hanoi on November 15 to illuminate the thesis of a new era of rise for the Vietnamese nation.
The idea of a new era of rise for Vietnam, introduced by Party General Secretary To Lam, has been highlighted by the recent 10th plenum of the Party Central Committee as a strategic direction for Vietnam’s development in the coming decades. It has been recognized as a critical initiative of immense political significance, one that should be included in the documents for the 14th National Party Congress.
However, this is a significant and novel matter, both theoretically and practically, that requires thorough research and analysis, in order to achieve a unified understanding and approach across the Party, the people, and the military, said Lai Xuan Mon, deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, at the conference.
Mon reviewed Vietnam’s major achievements since the Party’s founding in 1930 and noted that the achievements, alongside the country’s potential, international standing, and influence necessitate a breakthrough phase for rapid, robust, and sustainable development.
This represents an objective need, an evolutionary step aligned with the principles of the Vietnamese revolution, elevating the country’s independence and socialism to a new level, said the official.
Shedding light on the connotation of the concept, Mon explained that the rising era represents a period of breakthrough and accelerated, comprehensive, and synchronized development across all fields. It seeks to realize the goal of building Vietnam into a peaceful, independent, democratic, strong, prosperous, and happy nation, steadily advancing toward socialism. Moreover, it envisions Vietnam making a positive and worthy contribution to the peaceful, progressive, and prosperous development of humanity.
According to the official, Vietnam is shaping a new era based on five foundational pillars, namely a modern, socialist-oriented market economy; a democratic, equitable, civilized society with strong governance; a united, self-reliant, and culturally enriched nation; modern defense, security, and comprehensive diplomacy; and a streamlined, efficient political system.
At the conference, Vu Van Phuc, vice chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party Agencies, highlighted the achievements Vietnam has recorded over the past 40 years of implementing the Đổi Mới (Renovation) process. These successes have brought Vietnam new potential, international standing, and a forward-looking vision as the nation steps into a new era, an era of rise on the global stage.
