HCM City honoured with Laos’ noblest order

The Ho Chi Minh City has received the first-class Development Order of the Lao State for its contributions to Vientiane capital’s construction and development cause. 

Authorised by the Lao Prime Minister, Vientiane Governor Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune presented the order to the municipal authorities at a ceremony on March 29. 

In his speech, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune said the presentation of the noblest order of the Lao State to HCM City marks the special friendship and cooperation between the two cities as well as recognises HCM City’s assistance for Vientiane in particular and Laos in general. 

He expressed deep thanks to the HCM City Party Committee, authorities and people for their support for the Lao capital in infrastructure development, financial management and human resources training. 

He pledged to preserve and effectively use facilities and projects funded by the Vietnamese city. 

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong highlighted that the order presentation is an important political milestone in the friendship and cooperation between HCM City and Lao localities, including Vientiane.

The municipal Party Committee, authorities and people will do their utmost to nurture and further promote the relations between the two cities, he stated.
