This year’s Vietnam Innovation Competition has drawn more than 200 entries from across the country; 49 of them have been selected for its final round to take place on June 14 and 15.

The event has five sub-themes of traffic safety: (1) enforcement of traffic regulations, (2) education and awareness development, (3) better emergency services/responses, (4) pollution, and (5) improvement in traffic environment and road design.

Winning innovative ideas will be judged on their creativeness, impacts on society, feasibility and ability to expand in society, said Martin Rama, lead economist of the World Bank in Vietnam.

A total VND5 billion will be presented to the 30 most excellent projects at the awards ceremony on June 15.

The competition is co-organized by the World Bank, the National Transport Safety Committee and the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation.
