It is expected to draw 744 athletes from 25 provinces and cities, including 328 athletes from Ho Chi Minh City and a group of disabled athletes from the Republic of Korea.

They will compete in seven sporting events: track and field, swimming, table tennis, badminton, weight-lifting, tennis and chess for 587 sets of medals.

Nguyen Hung, Vice Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism and head of the tournament’s organising board said the board is preparing all necessary conditions and finding some more sponsors for the tournament.

The best athletes will be chosen to compete at the Paragames in December in Indonesia.
