First Guitar Concourse to fascinate the capital

The first classical guitar concourse for Vietnamese players will be held at the Vietnam Academy of Music in Hanoi from October 21-28.

The concourse will provide an objective view of young Vietnamese  guitarists’ quality and a source of Vietnamese candidates for international competition.

Well-known Australian guitarist Slava Grigoryan will serve as a judge of the concourse, according to the Australian Embassy in Hanoi, which sponsors the event.

The 36-year-old guitarist has won major prizes at international classical guitar competitions and has played with the world's leading orchestras and legendary jazz guitarists. His albums are highly regarded and have received numerous awards.

During his time in Hanoi, Slava will also play with visually impaired students from the Nguyen Dinh Chieu School.

On October 25, Slava and other members of the judging panel will perform at a concert at the Vietnam Academy of Music.
