Vietnam and Cuba clinched a cooperation deal in records and archives in Havana on August 6.

The agreement was reached during the visit to Cuba by Vice Minister of Home Affairs Van Tat Thu which took place from August 1-6.

Director of the National Archives of Cuba Marta Ferriol spoke highly of the sharing of experience with Vietnamese experts in archives, document management and personnel training and pledged to increase cooperation in the field.

On the occasion, Deputy Minister Thu presented a badge to Nidia Laberrera, former second secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam, for her contributions to the archives work in Vietnam.

The diplomat collected and provided various precious documents and exhibits for an exhibition on Vietnam-Cuba relations to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

While in Cuba, Deputy Minister Thu met with Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Environment America Santos and attended a conference on the application of new technology on archives.
