Nearly 2,000 foreign and Vietnamese athletes attended the Vietnam-France semi-marathon friendly tournament in Ho Chi Minh City on April 6.

The participants come from France, the US, England, japan, Australia, Singapore and Israel who are among others residing and working in HCM City. They competed in the men’s and women’s events raging from 3.5km to 21km.

 

As many as 165 athletes, including 50 foreigners, took part in the men’s and women’s 21-km events.

As a result, Nguyen Tien Khoa from HCM City finished first in the men’s 21-km event. In the women’s 21-km event, the first price went to Nguyen Thi Dong from Hanoi. Nguyen Ngoc Quang won the first prize at the men’s 10-km event. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuan and Nguyen The Loc bagged the first prize at the men’s and women’s 7-km events respectively. In the 3.5km event for both male and female young athletes, the first prize was clinched by Nguyen Thu Thao./.
