The event will provide a good opportunity for Vietnamese pistol shooters such as Manh Tuong, Cao Son, Doan Cuong and Xuan Vinh to practise before attending the 15^th ASIAD in Doha, Qatar. The athletes will compete in all pistol events of the tournament.

The rifle squad of the team is also expected to gain more precious experience to prepare for other major competitions in the future.
