Localities work for peaceful Vietnam-Cambodia border

South-western provinces have pledged to work closely with Cambodian localities to fight trans-national crimes to protect security and maintain stability and social order in each country.

The pledge was made at a working session in Phnom Penh on October 23 between a delegation from the Steering Committee for the South-western Region led by its deputy head Tran Phi Ho and a delegation from the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) led by the head of CPC Central Committee Standing Board Sai Chum.

Both sides agreed that local people residing in border areas have united over to ensure security and preserve peace and social order in the common border to facilitate mutual development.

At the session, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Phi Ho extended profound sympathy to Cambodian people and CPP members over the death of King Father Norodom Sihanouk.

For his part, Sai Chum affirmed that the Vietnamese State and people have made a significant contribution to Cambodia’s today achievements.
