Over 700 delegates from Vietnam and China took part in planting trees and building a friendship wall at a sports centre in Guangxi province on August 28.

Addressing the event, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ho Xuan Son, said “Together with the various activities at the Vietnam-China Youth Festival, the event has contributed to educating young people about the need to build up the traditional friendship and strengthen the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and China.

*** Also, on the morning of August 28, over 300 Vietnamese young people reached Nanning, China to meet with teachers and students of Guangxi University.

Later, in the evening, the Vietnam-China Youth Festival will be held in the Guangxi province sports centre, with nearly 32,000 participants, including 3,000 Vietnamese delegates.    

Since its establishment in 1928, the Guangxi University has had cooperative ties with many Vietnamese universities such as the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hue University and Thai Nguyen University.

Every year, hundreds of students from Guangxi University study in Vietnam’s universities and at present, nearly 500 Vietnamese students are studying at Guangxi University in such fields as economics, technology sciences and languages.

*** A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, led by Ho Duc Viet, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee's Personnel Commission attended the Vietnam-China Youth Festival from August 26-29 at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

They also visited the Guangxi Museum in Nanning City.
