Hanoi welcomed more than 3.35 million tourists in the first half of this year, an annual rise of 15 percent, according to the capital's Tourism Department.

The figure included more than 650,000 foreign visitors, showing a 14 percent increase over the same period last year.

 

Chinese tourists made up the biggest proportion, accounting for 12 percent of foreign visitors in the past six months. Meanwhile, holiday-makers from the Republic of Korea made up 11 percent, and France, 9.8 percent.

 

Also in the period, the city hosted 2.7 million domestic tourists, up 15.38 percent year-on-year.
Tourism services achieved a projected target of VND8,200 billion (roughly US$512.5 million).
