A new office building of the Lao National Assembly (NA) was inaugurated in Vientiane on December 1 in the presence of Vietnam’s visiting NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong.
In her speech she said this was a significant gift presented by the Vietnamese Party, State and people to the Lao people to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries and 35 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty, and the two countries’ friendship year in 2012.
For his part, Lao NA Vice President Saysomphone Phomvihance said the new office building of the Lao NA is a symbol of Vietnam-Laos friendship.
The project worth VND170 billion includes a six-story building covering an area of 5,200 sq.m.
