A Luxembourg-funded project has helped improve the quality of healthcare service and modern equipment for hospitals in the northern province of Hung Yen.

The Health Assistance Project, funded by Lux-Development, a development cooperation agent for almost all bilateral projects financed by the Government of Luxembourg, has been implemented at the Provincial Policlinic, the Pho Noi Policlinic and the Khoai Chau District Policlinic for four years.

The project has also helped reduce the percentage of patients transferred to central hospitals to 3.3 percent in 2007 from 6 percent in the previous year.

In the 2011-2020 period, the VND12-billion project is expected to ensure that all communes in Hung Yen province have doctors and all villages have medical workers.
