Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan stressed that the city want to cooperate and share experience with Singapore in security, anti-terrorism and drug prevention.

At a reception for Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Wong Kan Seng in Ho Chi Minh City on December 6, Mr Quan said that Ho Chi Minh City has learnt a lot from Singapore during its process of socio-economic development.


Chairman Le Hoang Quan also highlighted multi-faceted cooperation between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City, in which cooperation in economics, trade and education have been fruitful.


For his part, Singaporean Deputy PM Wong Kan Seng expressed his wish that the two sides create more opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in general, and businesses between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.


Mr Kan Seng also noted that it is necessary to increase bilateral cooperation in maintaining security in the region.


During his stay in the city, Deputy PM Wong Kan Seng visited the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park in Binh Duong province and met Singaporean investors and businessmen in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring provinces.
