Congratulation on Vietnam’s reunification

(VOV) -Lao Party General Secretary and President Chummaly Sayasone, Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong, and National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Pany Yathotu have sent messages of congratulations to Vietnamese senior leaders in observance of the 40th anniversary of liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification day (April 30).

The messages emphasized that under the clear-sighted leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and with the Vietnamese people’s determination, Vietnam defeated neocolonialists, paving the way for the Ho Chi Minh campaign’s victory and national reunification.

The victory has been the pride of the Vietnamese, Laotian people and peace lovers worldwide. The liberation of southern Vietnam in 1975 created important opportunities for the victory of Laos’ struggle for independence and the establishment of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on December 2nd, 1975.

On April 30, the Vietnam Embassy in Mexico and the Mexico-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Group hosted a meeting to mark this occasion.

Addressing the event, Mexican Labour Party (PT) General Secretary and President of the Parliamentarian Group, Alberto Anaya Gutiérrez highlighted the significance of the April 30th victory. He said Vietnam has set a shining example of patriotism and determination to fight for independence for other countries around the world to follow.

He wished greater success for the Vietnamese people in 2015 and in national construction and defense to achieve its goal of becoming an industrialized country by 2020.

In his message cabled to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Russian President V. Putin said this great day is a reminder of the courage, steadfastness, and heroism of Vietnamese people during their arduous struggle to defend their rights to freedom and independence. Those past struggle days tested the firm foundations built for the two nations’ friendship and cooperation.

He expressed his conviction that built on the glorious tradition of the past, the two countries will progress forward their mutually beneficial relations, meeting the two people’s benefits as well as ensuring peace, stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
