Looking back to the time when VOVNews was established on February 3 eight years ago, there were few of the online newspapers and Web pages that are now so prolific. In addition, a tough information race has taken place among online newspapers in the boom era of information technology. All online newspapers try to take their own advantages to attract readers alongside constant improvements and upgrades in terms of contents and presentation.

As the Vietnamese expression goes, "A tree is judged by its fruit," an online newspaper is known to readers thanks to the reliable, honest and accurate sources of information it provides. In addition, cleverness, sensitivity and news updates as well as convenient tools for Internet users are great advantages of each online newspaper in the current era.

VOVNews has its own advantages for it is an arm of VOV - a huge national media agency which has been established for several decades. However, it is not a decisive factor. The most important thing is the tireless effort made by all VOVNews staff members who know how to develop their strengths and overcome weaknesses to move forward.

Luckily VOVNews had a considerable number of regular and faithful readers at the beginning and the figure has increased significantly together with the paper’s constant improvements. However, not everything lives up to expectations. This is a constant challenge to managers, reporters and technicians of the paper, requiring new efforts and initiatives from them.

Another spring is coming to the nation. Despite cold spells late this year and downsized land acreage for growing Hanoi’s famous Nhat Tan peach variety, every house in the capital city is still adorned with many other peach trees brought from other localities together with many other imported and locally-crossbred varieties of flowers.

Time flies and life continues at its quick tempo, and VOVNews is swept along with this current tempo. We would like to express our sincere thanks to readers and listeners near and far for their interest in and contributions to the paper in recent years and hope to receive further cooperation in 2007 and the following years.
