Four cases of acute diarrhoea were reported in the northern province of Son La from May 25-31 and two have tested positive for the Vibrio cholera, according to Son La province’s Preventive Health Centre.
This is the 15th province in the country that has been threatened by acute diarrhoea.
The local authorities are actively carrying out drastic measures to halt the epidemic by disinfecting the infected areas with Cloramine B, isolate those who have had contact with infected patients and monitor the epidemic situation.
Currently, these patients are undergoing treatment at the Infection Control Department under the provincial Polyclinic and their health is said to be stable.
