According to the office’s summary report, it successfully assisted the President and Vice President with internal and external affairs in 2009.

The office will increase its involvement in research work to better assist the executive office holders. It will also work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies to better help the president with external affairs.

Speaking at the meeting, State President Nguyen Minh Triet praised the office’s constant efforts in improving operations over the past year.

The president expressed hope that the office would become more active and creative in identifying issues for the president, improving the quality of its reccommendations, helping the president grant amnesty to prisoners lawfully and resolving civil complaints.

He urged the office to take the initiative in order to fulfill its mission.
