Nearly 60 officials and business leaders from Vietnam and Belgium gathered at a seminar held in Ghent, Belgium, on October 6 to introduce Vietnam’s economic growth and potential.

Present at the seminar were the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s special advisor Truong Dinh Tuyen, the Belgian consul general in Ho Chi Minh City Dominique Casier and the General Managing Director of the Flanders Economic Office in Ho Chi Minh City.

Marc De Buck, Deputy Governor of East Flanders province said the seminar helped Belgian businesses gain a better understanding of Vietnam’s impressive economic growth in recent years, as well as its opportunities, future potential and challenges.

Truong Dinh Tuyen briefed the delegates on Vietnam’s achievements in the implementation of the 10-year socio-economic development strategy, especially in the context of suffering from negative impacts of the global financial crisis in 2008-2009. He expressed his hope that Vietnam will continue to be an attractive destination for European investors, including those from Belgium.
