Over the past 10 years, with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank, the Japanese Government and the intensive efforts of four countries in East-West Economic Corridor, a series of projects to upgrade Tien Sa port in Da Nang, the tunnel through Hai Van pass, Highway No. 9, Friendship bridge across the Mekong river and other infrastructure facilities have been carried out and put into use.    

As a bridgehead of the East-West Economic Corridor, Quang Tri’s increasing investment in major economic zones such as Lao Bao, Cua Viet, Cua Tung, and Con Co, has given a boost to local economic growth.

Nguyen Duc Chinh, Vice chairman of the Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee praised press agencies for closely coordinating with managers, businesses and scientists to encourage effective investment in the East-West Economic Corridor.
