The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs on August 25 organised a ceremony to see Vietnam’s entrants off to participate in the 40th WorldSkills Competition held in Calgary, Canada.

The world event will take place from August 26 to September 8, drawing 900 participants from 51 countries and territories and 3,500 spectators.

Entrants will compete in 45 skills. Ten Vietnamese will take part in 9 skills: information technology, web design, restaurant service, cooking, mechanics and electronics, wood working, industrial electronics, civil electricity and power.

This will be the second time Vietnam has attended the WorldSkills Competition. The first was in Japan in 2007.
