Ethnic people’s great respect and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh

VOV.VN - Throughout his life, President Ho Chi Minh always paid special attention to ethnic affairs and ethnic people, who have talked about him with great respect and admiration.

They have tried to abide by his teachings, and follow his ideology, morality, and lifestyle.

To show their respect, gratitude, and love for President Ho Chi Minh, people of the Xo Dang, Cor, Ca Dong, Pa Ko, and Bh'noong ethnic minority groups in several central provinces have voluntarily taken the surname Ho.

Ho Van Huan of the Xo Dang in Quang Nam province said, “Without Uncle Ho, there would not be an independent, peaceful, prosperous, and happy Vietnam. As we are Uncle Ho's descendants, we must study hard and follow his example.”

“My grandparents and parents joined the revolution and took the surname Ho. I’m very happy and proud to have the Ho family name, a descendant of Uncle Ho. My children and grandchildren will also have the Ho family name,” Huan noted.

In private homes, some families install a bust of President Ho Chi Minh while others hang a picture of him on the family altar.

Ho Van De of the Bh'noong in Quang Nam province shared that they have always been proud of having the family name Ho.

“My father took the name to show his gratitude to the Party, State, and to Uncle Ho, who led national construction and brought about a prosperous life for all people,” according to De.

In his Testament, President Ho Chi Minh said, "The Vietnamese people in the lowlands, as well as in the mountains, have endured numerous hardships for generations, have been oppressed and exploited by the feudal and colonial regimes, and have experienced many years of war. But the Vietnamese people are very heroic, brave, enthusiastic, and industrious."

Following President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings, ethnic people have united to overcome difficulties and strived in production and economic development.

Ho Van Hanh of the Pa Ko in Thua Thien-Hue province shared, “We have to do everything that is good for your community to deserve the Ho family name. Anything that is against ethics or the law should be avoided.”

Ho Van Ny, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province, said, “Thanks to Uncle Ho we have the Vietnamese state. The young generation must study well and work hard to build a rich and beautiful country.”

To every Vietnamese, President Ho Chi Minh was a great leader and beloved father, who dedicated his life to the cause of national liberation and reunification and will live forever in the hearts and minds of all Vietnamese.
