Thailand ready for ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
Thailand’s Foreign Minister is ready for the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Minister’s Meeting to take place in Laos.
At the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, ASEAN ministers will be discussing ways to strengthen the ASEAN Community and to enhance regional peace and security through measures to build trust and cooperation, including collaboration of nations in border management.
The meeting will also address the promotion of connectivity while guiding the forward direction of the ASEAN Community along with ASEAN Community Vision 2025 as well as the 2030 Agenda For Sustainable Development, for which Thailand has been assigned a coordination role.
They will also attend a meeting with the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights, and meetings between ASEAN Foreign Ministers and the Foreign Ministers of ASEAN Dialogue Partners or ASEAN+1, ASEAN Plus Three, East Asia Summit, and ASEAN Regional Forum or ARF.
Topics included in the meetings center on regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern, as well as the promotion of preventive diplomacy that will also be aimed at non-traditional security challenges.
Mr. Don will also hand an official document entitled Thailand’s Instrument of Ratification of the ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, to the ASEAN Secretary-General.
