Indonesia’s House of Representatives speaker named

Ade Komarudin of the Golkar party was sworn in on January 11 as speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, replacing Setya Novanto who stepped down over corruption allegations.
Setya Novanto, also of Golkar, was accused for ethics breach.
Investigations showed that he tried to extort shares worth up to US$1.8 billion from the Freeport-McMoran gold mining company to ensure its contract extension.
