Indonesia, RoK set up e-government cooperation centre

The governments of Indonesia and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have inaugurated an e-government cooperation centre in an effort to achieve world-class governance, which is more transparent, effective, and efficient.

The centre is part of a development strategy to boost cooperation between the two countries.

The office will operate for a period of three years from 2016 to 2018.

According to Indonesia ’s Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi, e-governance is the best way to ensure transparency in state administration in the globalisation era amid high public expectations with regard to improving public services.

At the inaugural ceremony on March 2, Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi and the RoK’s Home Affairs Minister Hong Yun Sik signed several cooperation agreements.

The two sides also agreed on the importance of deepening bilateral relations in all fields of e-governance within the framework of bureaucratic reforms.
