Australia warns of terror threat in Indonesia
Australia on February 25 warned of terror threat in Indonesia and advised Australian travelers to take precautions when travelling to the Southeast Asian country.
The advisory did not raise the overall threat level among Australian travelers to Indonesia which is already at a high degree of caution, but advised travelers to be particularly careful when in places that have low levels of security and while at possible terrorist targets, listing previous attack sites such as nightclubs, bars, cafes, restaurants, international hotels, airports and places of worship.
However, a spokesman for Indonesia’s national police said authorities had not seen any indications of an imminent attack.
On February 12, Australia issued a similar warning about neighbouring Malaysia.
