Twenty students from eight universities in Vietnam competed at the final round of the Contest of eloquence in Korean in Hanoi on July 3.

The contest, the first of its kind in Vietnam, was part of activities of the Vietnam Kumho Asiana Scholarship and Cultural Fund to boost cultural relations between the two countries and promote the studying and teaching of the Korean language in Vietnam.

All finalists will go on a week-long tour of the Republic of Korea and the prize winners will receive grants to attend a short-term Korean language course in the country.

According to a Kumho Asiana representative in Vietnam, the contest will be held annually.
