Eight teams from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam and host Thailand will compete in the 500m event in 12-rower boats.

The race is considered a good opportunity for Vietnam’s team, consisting of 14 members, to get more experience in preparation for the 26^th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Indonesia next year.

The festival will also help to promote friendship and cooperation among rowing and canoeing associations in the region.
