Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government and people, expressed thanks for Australia's assistance in HIV/AIDS control in Vietnam since 1993.

While meeting with Australian Ambassador for HIV/AIDS Annmaree O' Keeffe in Hanoi on November 24, Deputy PM Trong briefed his guest on Vietnam's difficulties in raising people's awareness of the impacts of drugs and HIV/AIDS.

Ambassador O' Keeffe praised Vietnam's policies and legal documents on fighting HIV/AIDS. She said the country has achieved a lot in this field over the past three years, creating a good foundation for the future.

The Ambassador stated that Australia is ready to help Vietnam continue its efforts to limit the spread of HIV/AIDS and effectively mitigate the aftermaths.
