Mr Manh made the statement during his visit to Mr Dong’s living and working place in Hanoi on February 27 to mark his 100^th birth anniversary (1/3/1906-1/3/2006).

The Party leader recalled his good memories of the late PM, especially his simplicity, probity and hospitality. Late PM Pham Van Dong set a bright example for us to pursue the revolutionary cause of socialist development and lofty objectives defined by the Party.

Mr Manh asked for measures to preserve Mr Dong’s relics in order to introduce and educate Party members and people, particularly younger generations about his exemplary model.

The same day, the Ho Chi Minh National Political Institute organised a seminar entitled " Comrade Pham Van Dong and the Vietnamese revolution" to mark the event. As many as 30 reports about Mr Dong’s activities were presented during the seminar.
