Vietnam has successfully designed a supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) with automatic warning equipment serving the mining industry, announced the Ministry of Science and Technology on June 28.

The ministry said Japan has proposed co-operation with Vietnam in mass-producing the system for the local mining industry as well as for export to foreign markets.

SCADA is one of nearly 300 automatic products successfully manufactured by Vietnam over the past five years, earning the country VND1 trillion (roughly US$62.5 million).
