The Vietnam Data Communication Company (VDC) signed an agreement with Motorola to implement WiMax as part of a pilot programme in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The test will take place over a year starting in October. The first phase will introduce WiMax in central Hanoi and the second in central HCM City.

The implementation of WiMax is expected to help VDC, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), attract more internet subscribers, meet demands for broadband and provide internet protocol services such as VoIP.
