It will take an average of two days to apply for a visa to the US instead of two weeks as of October 8, according to Charles Bennett, Consular Section Chief in the Consulate General of the US in Ho Chi Minh City.
As many as 42,300 visas have been issued by the agency from October 2007 to end of September 2008. Of the number, HCM City accounted for nearly 35,500 visas with more than 9,000 for students.
