The event attracted 7,600 stands from 200 countries around the world.
During the exhibition, Vietnamese businesses expressed keen interest in expanding markets. Vietnam Airlines announced the opening of a new direct air route between Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City and London which is scheduled for December.
Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Head of the VNAT said they had worked with British travel companies and other international travel agents, such as Thomas Cook and Carlson Wagonlit on cooperative measures to promote Vietnam’s tourism and attract more foreign tourists to the country.
According to the organizing board, the number of visitors to the fair showed an increase of 14 percent compared to last year’s figure, with as many as 23,000 gathering on the first day of the event.
