This high-profile international event marks an important opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City to promote its vibrant culture, people, and tourism potential, said the municipal administration in a recently issued decision.

As a founding member and Executive Committee member of TPO, the city aims to reaffirm its pioneering role in regional tourism promotion, while strengthening its presence in strategic and high-priority markets. The event also serves as a highlight among a series of activities celebrating diplomatic ties with international partners in 2025, it said.

The Assembly will also serve as a highlight in the year-long celebration of Ho Chi Minh City’s diplomatic relations and friendly ties with other cities and countries worldwide this year.

Themed “Shaping the Future of Tourism: Embracing Digital and Green Transformation,” the TPO General Assembly 2025 will welcome hundreds of delegates, including city leaders from TPO member cities, international tourism experts, business representatives, and global organisations.

The opening ceremony will feature prominent leaders from Ho Chi Minh City and the secretary general of TPO. In addition, the event will also include a leadership conference with a focus on smart cities and cross-border co-operation for the purpose of green tourism.

Furthermore, there will be thematic sessions, high-level forums, and bilateral meetings, allowing participants to exchange insights on digital transformation, green growth, and sustainable tourism development.

Cultural and artistic exchange programmes will be organised, along with a tour of Ho Chi Minh City’s key tourist destinations for international delegates.

Delegates will also have the chance to participate in the Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC 2025), Vietnam’s largest annual tourism expo, which provides valuable opportunities for business networking and forging strategic partnerships.
