The Vietnam National Administration for Tourism (VNAT) has unveiled plans to open a representative office in Tokyo later this year as part of efforts to attract more Japanese tourists to Vietnam and promote cooperation between the two countries.
Hoang Thi Diep, deputy chief of the VNAT, said the Tokyo office, the administration’s first abroad, is expected to double the number of Japanese arrivals to 1 million in 2015.
A memorandum of understanding for opening it will be signed at the Hue Festival in April, she said, adding that Japanese and Vietnamese travel firms are looking forward to it.
