A workshop entitled ‘Vietnam – Timeless Charm’ was held in Kuala Lumpur on March 17 to introduce Vietnam’s tourism development and promote its attractive destinations.

The workshop, held by Travel Seasons in coordination with the Vietnam Airlines Office in Malaysia and the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), was attended by representatives of many travel companies, overseas Vietnamese, and local people.

The event featured Vietnam’s famous tourism sites, pagodas, cultural characteristics and unique cuisine. It also presented many tours for Malaysian tourists.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Nguyen Hong Thao said the workshop offers a good opportunity for people from both countries to exchange culture and learn about each other’s history and customs.

Meanwhile, MATTA former president Ngiam Foon said Malaysian tourism companies should boost their research into the high potential Vietnamese market.

Vietnam received over 233,000 Malaysian tourists in 2011, up 3.88 percent over 2010.
