Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice chairwoman of the HCM City People’s Committee, said the event themed “Four Countries-A Destination” aims to help Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar establish long-term cooperation in developing tourism industry in the region.
On this occasion, senior officials of the four ministries of tourism will meet to discuss a plan of action for the next two years.
In another development, the mayors of four tourism cities in the Mekong Delta basin, including HCM City (Vietnam), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Vientiane (Laos) and Yangon (Myanmar), will also meet to launch a programme of inbound tourism market development.
The aim is to attract 180 international agents from 33 tourism markets, such as ASEAN countries, Australia, Canada, China, the Europe, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, North America, Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
