They were selected from 400 candidates involved in travel, hotel, resort, restaurant and healthcare services across the country.

Among them were 76 hotels and resorts (three or five-star ranking), 38 restaurants, 7 travel agencies, 5 beauty salons and healthcare centres and 15 transportation and entertainment service companies.   

The awardees were voted by readers of The Guide, a publication of Vietnam Economic Times.      

Criteria for the awards were based on infrastructure, service quality, environmental friendliness, and other values.

Some businesses which had won awards for several consecutive years included the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi (12 years in a row), the Melia Hanoi Hotel and Buffalo Tours (11 years), Six Senses Con Dao, Cham Villa Phan Thiet, and Fusion Maia Danang.
