The tourists are on a trans-Viet tour organised by Saigontourist Travel Services (Saigontourist). They will visit many of Vietnam’s destinations, including Hanoi, Ha Long, Hue, Danang, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Vinh Long, and Phan Thiet to gain a better understanding about local people’s lives.

The same day, Saigontourist and Quang Nam province organised a ceremony to welcome the 1,200,000^th tourist to the ancient city of Hoi An, which has been recorgnised as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

The visitor from Germany took Saigontourist’s trans-Vietnam tour from December 24, 2011 to January 10, 2012.

The SuperStar Aquarius, with more than 2,000 visitors and crew on board, from Hong Kong (China), will be the first New Year’s callers to Ha Long Bay.
