Bamboo Airways adds new aircraft to meet summer travel demand
VOV.VN - Bamboo Airways is expanding its fleet by adding new aircraft in late May to meet surging travel demand during the summer peak.
The expansion comes through a wet lease agreement with BBN Airlines Indonesia, part of the global aviation services group Avia Solutions Group.
As part of the deal, Bamboo Airways will lease a Boeing 737-900ER from BBN Airlines Indonesia. The aircraft will be deployed on high-demand domestic routes within Vietnam and select destinations across Southeast Asia.
After arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the aircraft will undergo a full technical inspection before entering service later this month.
Luong Hoai Nam, CEO of Bamboo Airways, said the partnership with BBN Airlines Indonesia under the ACMI model that covers Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance is a proactive move to boost the airline’s operational capacity during a high-travel season.
“Our priority is to ensure safe and reliable operations while remaining flexible in adopting efficient, passenger-focused solutions,” Nam stated, adding Bamboo Airways has been actively negotiating with international leasing partners to acquire suitable aircraft that align with the airline’s strategy and domestic market growth.
Meanwhile, Martynas Grigas, chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia, highlighted their mission in providing dedicated, consistent, and high-quality support to help partners expand their flight networks and enhance passenger experience.
“We’re honored to partner with Bamboo Airways in this important fleet expansion,” he said.
To maintain a seamless customer experience, inflight service on the wet-leased aircraft will be co-managed by both airlines. Bamboo Airways flight attendants will work alongside BBN Airlines Indonesia’s experienced crew to ensure the airline’s signature service standards are upheld.
