Investment in Vietnam was the order of the day for over 150 Japanese businesses attending a seminar in Tokyo, Japan, on July 24 by the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce.
Japanese experts briefed the businesses on Vietnam’s socio-economic development and investment activities.
Aikawa Seiji from the Aikawa Business Research Institute highlighted Vietnam’s advantages compared to other regional countries like China and Thailand in terms of its investment environment and costs. He also spoke in detail about Vietnam’s key industries, procedures of registration for licensing a company, advantages of the country after it joined the WTO and foreign investment promotion policies.
Sugiyama Hiromi, an expert from the Vietnam study group, added that Vietnam has a young and industrious workforce.
The Hanoi Office in Japan dispatched a representative to the event to advertise the city’s favourable investment conditions. Issues of concern raised at the meeting were incentives and investment costs at key economic zones in Hanoi.
