Thousands of anti-government "red- shirt" protesters are now gathering at a main commercial district in central Bangkok to mark the passing of six months of a military crackdown that dispersed their occupation of the area.

The gathering, which started in on afternoon of November 19, aims at remembering the victims of the lethal military crackdown that ended their prolonged protest six months ago, on May 19. The crackdown resulted in 91 deaths and nearly 2,000 injuries.

"Red-shirt" leaders Jatuporn Prompan, Somyos Phruksakasemsuk and Sombat Boon-ngamanong have arrived at the protest venue.

Somyos set free 40 doves to symbolize "red-shirt"'s demand to free some of their leaders who have been arrested under the emergency decree.

Several companies of police were deployed at the Ratchaprasong intersection and nearby areas to ensure law and order.

The emergency decree is now imposed in Bangkok and a few of its neighboring provinces.
