1,650 police will be deployed on March 25 to ensure law and order around parliament, where the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) plans to rally against three memorandums of Thai-Cambodian Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) meetings, a police source said.

The three JBC memos have been tabled for parliamentary approval on the same day.

The security operation will be under the command of Pol Maj-Gen Kreerin Inkaew, the deputy metropolitan police chief for security affairs.

A total of 1,650 police will be deployed for the operation.

Check points will be set up to search people for firearms and illegal items on routes leading to parliament, particularly in front of the Royal Plaza and Uthong Nai road, the source said.

The entire section of Uthong Nai road in front of parliament and part of Ratchawithi road will be closed for exclusive use by MPs, senators and officials.
