Thailand’s Board of Investment (BoI) will take auto parts and electronics producers to the International Machine Tools and Metalworking Technology Exhibition 2007 in Vietnam (Metalex Vietnam 2007) next week.

The BoI hopes that Thai companies can produce components for Japanese companies investing in the automobile and electronics industries in Vietnam.

Chanin Kaochan, Head of BoI's Industrial Linkage Development Unit, said he would take a group of more than 10 parts and electronics makers to the event between October 11-13.

It is a good opportunity for Thai manufacturers to expand the auto part and electronics market in Vietnam, Mr Chanin said.

Currently, many foreign investors, particularly Japanese companies, have invested in the electronics industry in Vietnam. But they still lack parts producers to supply needed products to them.
