Taiwanese Tatung Company inaugurated the first phase of an electric household appliance factory in My Phuoc 2 industrial zone (IZ), southern Binh Duong province on January 26 after one year of construction.

The US$40 million factory, which covers an area of 24 ha, will produce refrigerators, rice steamers, electric fans, ovens, grinders, and electric meters. It will later produce air conditioners, washing machines, LCD TV sets, and other home appliances.

Head of the management board of Tatung Vietnam Lam Quy Son said that the company will invest an additional US$30 million in expanding the factory’s area by 16 ha.
